Accounts & beta

Invites

During the private beta, creating an account requires an invite code. Codes are limited-use and may expire; if yours doesn't work, ask whoever invited you for a fresh one.

Signing in from the desktop app

The app signs in through your browser (OAuth with PKCE): click Sign in, approve in the browser, done. The app never sees your password — it holds only short-lived tokens, with the refresh token stored in your OS keychain (macOS Keychain / Windows Credential Manager). You stay signed in across restarts.

Until you're signed in with an active plan, the app shows a sign-in screen instead of the workspace, and nothing runs behind it: agents restored from your last session don't respawn until the screen goes away. If you sign out mid-session the screen comes back, but your running work is left alone — it returns exactly as you left it.

Working offline

Your session survives losing the network. The app rechecks your plan about once an hour and treats a network error as "try again later", never as a sign-out, so a flaky connection or a plane trip changes nothing.

Offline is bounded at 24 hours: a full day without a single successful check and the app asks you to reconnect before continuing. Nothing is lost — the moment a check lands, everything comes back.

Managing your account

Everything account-shaped lives on this site at vibeguild.ai/account — the desktop app's "Manage account…" button opens the same page. From there you can:

  • change your name or email (a new email must be verified before it takes effect),
  • change your password (which signs out every other session),
  • see and revoke active sessions,
  • delete your account (password check plus an email confirmation — deletion is immediate and removes your account, sessions, tokens, and entitlements).

Forgot your password? Use reset password from the sign-in page.

Updates

The app updates itself: a chip in the status bar offers the new version, the dialog shows what changed, and installing restarts the app — so it never happens mid-thought. You can also check on demand from the command palette. Every Download page build and every in-app update come from the same release, so both platforms are always on the same version.

What the app sends home

Sign-in and entitlement checks. Nothing else — your terminal contents, code, prompts, and agent conversations never leave your machine through VibeGuild. Your agents talk to their own vendors under their own policies, exactly as they would in a plain terminal. See the privacy policy for the full story.
